Historical Site: Inveraray Castle - (1 hour)

Inveraray Castle has been standing on the shores of Loch Fyne since the 1400s, although the impressive castle we know today was inspired by a sketch by Vanbrugh, the architect of Blenheim Palace and Castle Howard in the 1700s. The castle we know today was the result of a fire in 1877, which resulted in the addition of the third floor and conical roofs on the corner tower.

Visit the 18th-century castle, home of the Duke of Argyll. Explore the castle's beautiful gardens and the Armoury Hall.

Experience the life of 19th-century prisoners in this living museum.

Depart Inveraray for Achnabreac.

Explore one of the largest and finest groups of prehistoric rock carvings in Britain,with numerous cup and ring marks carved into bedrock outcrops.

Depart Achnabreac for Kilmartin Glen.
